International Competitiveness of Chinese Vegetables:Based on the Data Export to Japan

Abstract: China is a major country of vegetables production in the world. Based on the data of UN Commodity Trade Statistics Database from 1992 to 2014, the detailed research about competitiveness level of Chinese vegetables have been done through the Trade Competitiveness Index,Export Permeation Tate Index and Export Advantage’s Variation Index, we find that Chinese vegetables have obvious superiority in Japanese markets, but the quality of vegetables and standardized production need to be improved. On the basis of empirical research, the responding measures will be taken in this paper.
