Self-reflection and Construction: the Criticism of the Assessment of the Rule of Law in Modern China

Abstract: With the progress of the rule of law and the development of the society,the activity of assessment of the rule of law now is flourishing in China.The introduction of Western modes of assessment of the rule of law and the further development of the practice of evaluation in China have produced lots of experience and lessons .There are many problems in the practice of the assessment of the rule of law,including the lack of value criterion ,the confusion of institutional direction,the limitation of the function ,the inadequacy of the independency of the samples and the valid supervision.Therefore,in order to construct a localized system of the assessment of the rule of law in China,measures such as construction of an unified value criterion,determination of the institutional dimension of the evaluation,definition its function and location and regulation of a supervision and reexamination procedure should be taken,so as to provide suggestions for the improvement of the assessment of the rule of law.
