Abstract: In international trade developing countries import intermediate products of developed countries is a reliable path to improve the added value of prod-
ucts. This paper conducted an empirical study on heterogeneous self-selection effect of imported intermediate product by the China Employer-Employee Survey
(CEES) dataset. It is found that the self-selection effect of imported intermediate products has heterogeneity; In view of the different ownership, self-selection effect exists only in foreign-funded enterprises, and doesn’t exist in domestic enterprises; In view of different types of trade, the self-selection effect of non-processing trade enterprises is higher than that of processing trade enterprises.
