Abstract: In this paper, we use data of 2015 “China Employer-Employee Survey” (CEES) and find that the use of international standards increase total factor productivity. Different kinds of estimation methods and measurement the effect of international standards to productivity have been tried. It reveals that enterprises using international standards have higher productivity which is 13.7% higher than matched group. Thus, government should establish policy systems which encourages enterprises using more international standards and continue to reform standardization systems to improve the contribution of standards to productivity. In the meantime, transferring Chinese technology of independent intellectual property rights to international standards and expanding exporting standard-related service trade.
