In order to know the residents’ needs for food quality and the differences of needs in terms of urban and rural residents of different income levels, 36 teachers and students from the Institute of Quality Development Strategy went to Wuhan, Xiaogan, Huanggang and other regions and carried out a four-day food safety survey.
It was said that the survey was conducted through on-site interviews and questionnaires, covering 720 urban and rural residents from 6 regions and counties including Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hanan region, Hanchuan and Xiaonan region in Xiaogan, Huangzhou and Xishui region in Huanggang. A total of 714 questionnaires on food safety was collected in this survey.
Master's and doctoral freshmen also participated in the survey. Before their enrollment, they went to the houses of each visited urban and rural residents. Through communication and information exchanges, they learned the basic skills of household survey and understood the different needs for food safety between current urban and rural residents in China.
The survey was of great significance in further understanding the demands for food quality among different urban and rural residents of different income levels. Our teachers and students will focus on the analysis of questionnaires, sort out effective data, and conclude relevant research findings through analysis.
