At the afternoon on June 23, the graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony were held in the Institute of Quality Development Strategy. 8 full-time postgraduate students under China's first Macro-quality Management Program and 3 doctoral students under public economic management program experienced the most important moment during their academic career under the witness of their relatives and friends, teachers and students.
Prof. Hong Cheng, Dean of the IQDS, Dr. Qiong Song, Deputy Dean of the IQDS, Dr. Dandan Li, relatives of the graduates and all the teachers and students attended the graduation ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Dr. Shilei Song, the Director of the Office of Graduate Management.
Dr. Qiong Song first announced the resolution on granting doctoral degrees and master's degrees to graduate students in the class of 2017 and extended warm congratulations on the graduates.
As a representative of outstanding graduates, Dr. Dandan Li shared her experiences when she just graduated from university and came to work at the IQDS. In her speech, she encouraged all the graduates that“stay calm to face the challenges in the future. As the saying goes, rainbow comes after a storm”.
Subsequently, the doctoral representative Dr. Chuan Chen and postgraduate representative Ms. Ting Tang gave a speech respectively. Dr. Chen expressed his gratitude to all the faculty during his study at the IQDS while Ms. Tang also extended her gratefulness to Prof. Cheng, the teachers, her relatives and friends at the institute.
The graduation ceremony was pushed to a climax when Prof. Cheng delivered a speech to all the graduates. With the theme of "The Charm of Personality", Prof. Cheng first welcomed all the relatives of graduates and congratulated them on the successful completion of academic career of their children. Subsequently, he made a comprehensive account of study life of the graduates and spoke highly of their progress. “The group of people that the IQDS nurtured are those with unique charm of personality.You will not only be able to engage in a specific job, or possess a professional skill, but more importantly, you are competent for all kinds of positions and face any challenges through the power of personality!”
At the ceremony, Prof. Cheng awarded the degree certificate to 11 graduates and took group photos with each student. At the end, all the faculty and students sang the school song of Wuhan University. With the blessings of teachers, relatives and friends, graduates in the class of 2017 will start a brand-new chapter in their life.
