IQDS Awarded “Excellent Research Collective in Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University”

Recently, IQDS has been awarded “Excellent Research Collective in Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University” due to its outstanding performance in scientific research, innovative results and social benefits etc. with School of History, Economics and Management School, School of Law and School of Information Management in Wuhan University.


Since its founding, IQDS has been devoted to four research focuses including economic growth quality research, quality management research, quality big data and quality culture research by empirical research methods to solve the practical problems of Chinese economic development. During the recent 5 years’ progress, IQDS has been engaging itself in upgrading its core competitive strength in scientific research and obtained a large volume high-level research results and think-tank products. More than 130 papers were published in leading journals both at home and abroad, 18 monographs published by well-received publishers; IQDS received 5 important instructions by state-level leaders and over 30 by provincial and ministerial level leaders; IQDS undertook more than 10 major research projects including Major Project by National Sciences Foundation (finalized with accreditation exempt), Major Research Project by Philosophy and Social Sciences of Ministry of Education, “Twelfth Five-year Plan” State-level Science & Technology Support Project and Research Projects in Public Welfare by Ministry of Science and Technology; scientific research fund received continuously ranked fifth in social sciences of Wuhan University. In 2016, more than 42 papers (4.2 per capita) in total were published in CSSCI and above journals; 6 monographs (0.6 per capita) were published; 7 important instructions were issued by the governmental leaders above provincial and ministerial level; the scientific research funds totaled RMB 9,478,700 (947,800 per capita). Based on the data of China Employer-Employee Survey (CEES), more than 40 think-tank reports were continuously produced and submitted to the government and enterprises of all levels including General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and the government and enterprises in Hubei and Guangdong Province and most of the think-tank results were adopted and applied.   

        

Since 2017, IQDS's article “Human Capital and China's Future Growth”, as the first and correspondent author, was published in the World Top 5 Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Perspectives (JEP). A total of seven research papers led by Professor Cheng Hong, dean of IQDS, were published based on CEES in this special issue of China Economic Journal, an English journal in Routledge organized by National School of Development of Wuhan University. Research paprs by IQDS faculty members were published in Economic Research Journal (Issue 2, 2017), the most influential economic journal in China, Journal of Beijing Normal University (Social Science Edition) (Issue 1, 2017) and Journal of International Trade (Issue 1, 2017), which are two important journals in China.


Based on the data of China Employer-Employee Survey (CEES), IQDS has established a long-term stable partnership with Stanford University, Hong Kong University Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong and other world-class institutes in scientific research and talent fostering.
