On February 28, Zheng Junfang, Chief Platform Officer (CPO) of Alibaba, Zhou Shenghe, Vice President of Alibaba Group and their party visited IQDS and exchanged ideas on talents fostering and project cooperation in quality area in a meeting. Zheng Junfang also made a keynote speech titled “Joint Governance of Quality in the Era of New Retail”. Cheng Hong, Dean of IQDS, Song Qiong, Deputy Dean of IQDS, and all the faculty members and students attended the meeting and the lecture.
Cheng Hong introduced the development situations of IQDS from scientific research, talents fostering, social service and other aspects, and highlighted the research and think-tank results achieved such as the China Employer-Employee Survey (CEES) project. He also analyzed the status quo of China’s quality governance with practical cases. Zheng Junfang said, Alibaba is a platform, and a system, so its development requires comprehensive managerial talents to join in. Alibaba is willing to provide an open practice base for talent fostering and scientific research and start cooperation and exchanges in quality standards, product sampling test, product quality and entrepreneur advanced training and other areas.
The lecture made by Zheng Junfang is the first one of Alibaba “Quality Governance Lectures”. In her speech, Zheng Junfang analyzed the potential prospects of Internet development, functions of governance institutes, threshold-above operating room for innovation and market and construction of joint quality governance system in the future 30 years, and it covered five themes including “Alibaba is more than E-commerce,” “Development of Internet,” “Existing Problems in Internet Development,” “Thoughts on Internet Development and Governance,” “Alibaba’s Exploration and Practice in Quality Governance”. Faculty members and students of IQDS had fierce discussions with Zheng Junfang on consumer credit evaluation, competition pressure from WeChat online shop-owners and the severest constraint to wiping out fake products.
Cheng Hong said, Ablibaba quality governance team is a group of idealist professionals who are capable of academic thinking and with spirit of exploration. They stick to the pursuit and creation of “goodness” and take the responsibility as “Chinese Quality Builders.”
Zheng Junfang, Partner of Alibaba Group and Chief Platform Officer, led her team to fight against the most difficult problems in product quality including infringement, fakery and credit speculation. For her contributions in quality area, Zheng Junfang was awarded as the Best Quality Citizen for the year of 2016.
The Best Quality Award is the first quality award accredited by academic professionals. Based on the academic results and expert resources of IQDS and adopting peer-review methods, it aimed to find the “nice voice” in quality area by exploring outstanding government representatives, enterprises, social organizations, technical institutes and consumers and widely disseminate the effective approach to quality innovation accommodating our national economic conditions, shifting from “speed-oriented era” to “quality-orient era”.
