From October 19th to 23rd, IQDS together with famous expert, carried out a joint research project on “quality and economic transformation and upgrading”, and investigated 8 manufacturing enterprises on the basis of the research. A.P. Xu Jianhuan of Singapore Management University, A.P. Luo Lianfa of IQDS, Dr. Song Feifei, Dr. Hu Dezhuang, and etc. took part in the research.
The research covered industries of toys, household appliances, clothing, ceramics and others. It focused on enterprise’s motivation to upgrade product quality, the externality of quality event, the influence of quality award policy on enterprise development and etc.
Through the research, it is found that the motivation of enterprise to upgrade product quality is driven by management team, upstream and downstream enterprises, market demand, competitors and etc; the externality of quality events mainly depends on the seriousness of the event, and whether the issue is widespread in the industry; and the quality assessment of government may improve the performance of enterprises.
The investigation had many new and valuable findings, regarding the economic transformation and upgrading. And IQDS played important role and guaranteed the quality of the research.
Later, the two sides will also conduct further research on the topic of quality award and the externality of quality events.
