Recently, three research papers written by IQDS teachers and students have been continuously published in "Journal of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law"(a Core Journal in China). These papers are based on the empirical analysis of China Employer-Employee Survey (CEES) 2015.
The paper "entrepreneurs' spirit of innovation: explanation from their age effect - an empirical analysis based on China Employer-Employee Survey 2015", written by Cheng Hong and Han Xiao, explores the changes of entrepreneurs' innovative spirit from their age factor. It has examined the causal relationship between the entrepreneurs' age and their spirit of innovation by using OLS and 3SLS regression and showed that a significant U-shaped relationship exists between entrepreneurs' age and their spirit of innovation. By further calculations on the U-inflection point, it has been found that the entrepreneurs between 50.8-52.7 years old have a significantly lower spirit of innovation than other age entrepreneurial groups, and are confronted with "middle-age innovation bottlenecks".
The article "quality of human capital, skill premium and enterprise total factor productivity (TFP)- an empirical analysis based on China Employer-Employee Survey 2015", written by Yu Fan, Xu Wei and Wang Pingtian, has found that the interaction terms of human capital quality and skill premium have a significant positive correlation with enterprise TFP, by using OLS and IV regression analysis. It indicates that skill premium can generate incentives for the quality of human capital, thereby affecting the enterprises' total factor productivity.
The paper "testing the causal effect of skill training on employees' wages – new evidence from an empirical analysis based on China Employer-Employee Survey 2015", written by Li Tang and Cheng Xin, has proposed that participation in skill training exerts a robust positive causal effect on employees’ wages and different skill trainings have heterogeneous impacts on employees' wages. It has found that, compared with training of native language and professional skills, training of English language, communication skill and management skill makes more significant contributions to the improvement of employees' wages.
